Acerca del evento
The current lifestyle of lower physical activity and higher consumption of high energy-dense foods are increasing the prevalence of non-communicable diseases, such as metabolic syndrome, type-2 diabetes, hypertension, psychological disorders like anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, lower resilience, and cognitive deficiency in all the global sub-populations (i.e., children, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged adults and elderly). In this sense, physical activity is an effective treatment to improve the health and fitness of individuals who suffer the aforementioned conditions. Paradoxically, the lack of free time is one of the main barriers to engaging in an active lifestyle or physical activity programs. This situation hastens non-communicable diseases.
Interval training (IT) is a novel exercise modality that generates similar or better results in health and fitness than traditional exercise modes (i.e., aerobic exercise or resistance training) and requires less time demand. The present Symposium will discuss current scientific reports on the impact of interval training on molecular and physiological mechanisms associated with health recovery in non-communicable diseases.
This aim is achieved through keynote lecturers and virtual poster sessions. The program of the symposium divides into session categories. The first day of the event will be focused to discuss the relevance of the interval training in Psychology, Behavior, and Neurobiology, and the final day of the event will discuss topics on the effects of interval training in the Integrative and Clinical Exercise Physiology.
